Hort Week

July 8 to 14, 2017

Connect with like-minded gardeners and pick up some new tips on how to keep your garden healthy and your yard beautiful. Hort Week offers the public engaging, accurate classes taught by enthusiastic garden professionals, suitable for new or experienced gardeners. Workshops may be taken for personal interest or for credit in the Master Gardener Certificate Program.

Take a free tour, take one class, or take a whole bunch! Hort Week is July 8-14 this year with daily, evening and weekend workshops throughout. We've got more than thirty different events - from basic classes to speciality classes, maker workshops to classes for certification, with plenty of free tours and free classes in between. Some of our favourites include:

  • Basic Perennial Gardening
  • Probiotic Vegetables
  • Vegetable Gardening: Warm Season Veggies
  • Herbal Medicine from Field and Garden: Tinctures, Teas, and Infusions
  • Free Horticulture Tours around campus including the U of S Greenhouses, Walking tour of campus, Horticulture Test Plots, Herbarium and Patterson Gardens 
  • Annual book sale

Register early for best selection. You can register right up until the day of the course but our 10% Early Bird registration discount ends June 23. A special thank you to Meewasin and the City of Saskatoon for joining us to provide some special classes to you, for free, this Hort Week.
